I have produced briefings for this game in a booklet form for each of the 3 armies.
The game will be set across two tables.
The main table will be depicting the Anglo-Allied army versus the Imperial French.
The buildings used are card ones I bought from eBay that originally were published by Miniature Wargames. They took a little while to glue together with PVA. They were based to give them some durability. The homemade wood bases will be painted and populated with trees for the battle. The vineyards on the left next Hougoumont Chateau are Gale Force Nine Flames of War vintage. Ridges and hills from T.S.S. Tracks are from an eBay vendor called Fat Frank.
The photo depicts the layout of the main table which is 10 feet across by 6 feet wide photographed on my garden patio. So each square is a 2 feet square tile. Ignore the rockery on the left. Anglo-allied deployment is a the top of the picture and Imperial French at the bottom.
British & Allies
Main Table = 15050 points
French Main Table = 15105 points
The Flank table (black outline on map) will be Prussians versus Imperial French. It is a 6 feet by 4 feet table.
Buildings are Gale Force Nine 15mm Flames of War vintage. The homemade wood bases will be painted and populated with trees for the battle. Ridges and hills from T.S.S. Tracks are from an eBay vendor called Fat Frank. Prussian deployment is on the right of the picture and Imperial French on the left.
French Flank Table = 6245 points Prussians Flank Table = 8875 points
One player is Wellington and a British General against One player who is Napoleon and a French General. One Player is Blucher against a French General. Extra players deployed as required and if sufficient numbers available a player could be an umpire.
As I have in-sufficient figures of my own, my local club in the county of Kent, England will provide Austrians who will proxy as French on the Flank Table. These will in fact be facing Russians who will proxy as Prussians. On the main table I will provide all the British and mine and the clubs' Prussians who will be allies but will act as British in the game for simplicity. The Imperial French will be provided by myself and my friend Mark. Mark worked really hard to procure painted and based figures for this game. Thanks mate!
As said before I and my friend Paul have written a set of Napoleonic additions for the Kings of War Historical rules.
To make the game flow smoothly I have produced 3 army stats for all units in this game.
I now have to get all my gaming equipment ready, tick my check lists and get up at 0500 tomorrow to set up everything up so the guys can turn up 0830 get mug of tea and a briefing and start at 0900. The game will be 6 or 7 turns as per the usual Kings of War rules. Winner decided by acquiring the most victory points. Let us Battle!
